Truth Tuesday - 1 Timothy 1:6
1 Timothy 1:6
from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,
When we leave the path God sets up and stop living out of love, a mask is formed and everything we say is for nothing (and no one cares about what we say). Jesus tells us in Matthew 12:36, "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it on the day of judgement." Although saying something 'jus cuz' doesn't exempt it from having consequences.
We need to be mindful of the things we say. We don't need to set aside giving encouragement to someone to chase after the latest news of the town. Words that don't have a purpose should be thought over before being said. I write these things, not as someone who has mastered this art, but rather as someone who is convicted about how much I talk and the relevance of those words.
