Truth Tuesday 1 Timothy 1:14
1 Timothy 1:14
And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
As Paul explained in the previous verse that he wasn't good enough on his own. It took divine intervention for the undeserved from the One who had power over everything. Not only did He supply enough grace to cover the moment, but He gave an extremely ample supply of grace. So much so that there is nothing that is not covered by it, no matter how old we live nor how many wrongs we do, there is a surpassing amount of grace.
This concept is greater than we can imagine, so it takes both faith and love to accept it. Faith because sometimes we think that what we have done is too horrible for God to forgive. We think that when we keep falling into the same traps of sin, that God has given up at our persistent disobedience. This is not the case. God is faithful to His promise that our sins are removed from us (Psalm 103:12). We have to have faith that God is bigger than our short comings. This faith is through Jesus because He is the one that paid the price that we may be forgiven. It is only after we choose Him as out Savior that God forgives us (until that point, we are still in our sins).
The love comes into play during the acceptance of this grace. We realize the price that was paid for it, and by faith we realize that it is only through Christ that we can be forgiven of our sins. It is through Christ that we can hold dear the undeserving intervention into our lives that was by far unfit for the King of kings to enter into. Although we cannot fully comprehend how large the distance was for Him to travel to us, we can appreciate the changes He makes in us and things He does for us through our love to Him.
God Bless :)
